Before

Transform a kitschy, hot-pink plastic garden flamingo into a fun and flirty metallic feature with a quick coat of Universal spray paint in Copper Rose.

Step 1

Wipe down all surfaces of the plastic flamingo with a lint-free rag and Krud Kutter cleaner and allow to dry thoroughly.

Step 2

Using painter’s tape, mask off any areas that will not be painted (i.e. eyes and beak).

Step 3

Working in a well-ventilated area, spray a light coat of Universal Copper Gold spray paint on the body of the flamingo.

*Note, if working outside, stand the flamingo up on the metal posts in the grass so you can move around and paint all sides at once.

Step 4

Apply a light second coat as needed.

Step 5

Remove all painter’s tape, place in the garden, and enjoy!

Optional

For this project, the beak was then masked off to paint with Universal Pure Gold.
